Privacy Policy
WordLoom ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the WordLoom mobile application (the "App") on iOS and Android. Please read this policy carefully.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Data: When you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your display name, email address, and profile photo (if available) from the respective provider. We use this solely for authentication and cloud sync. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we only receive the relay email address Apple provides.
- Game Progress: Your puzzle completion data, scores, XP, level, streak information, and statistics are stored to provide a continuous game experience.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data, including app opens, puzzle completions, feature usage, and crash reports. This data helps us improve the App.
- Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and performance optimization.
- Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports including device state, stack traces, and app version at the time of the crash. This data is anonymized and used solely to fix bugs and improve stability.
- Push Notification Tokens: If you opt in to notifications, we store your device token through Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver daily puzzle reminders and updates.
1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your precise location data.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone.
- We do not serve advertisements or use advertising trackers.
- We do not collect payment information — all purchases are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Sync your game progress across devices via Cloud Firestore
- Populate leaderboards and community features
- Send push notifications (daily puzzles, streak reminders) if you opt in
- Analyze usage patterns to improve game design and fix bugs
- Deliver remote configuration updates (themes, puzzle parameters)
- Verify in-app purchases and manage premium features
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase services, which provide industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Game progress is stored locally on your device (SQLite) and synced to Cloud Firestore when you are signed in.
We implement appropriate security measures including Firestore Security Rules that restrict data access to authenticated users' own data only. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Crashlytics) — Firebase Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store (in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple) — Apple Privacy Policy
- Google Play (in-app purchases, Google Sign-In) — Google Privacy Policy
5. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
WordLoom does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. We do not participate in advertising networks or share data with data brokers. When iOS prompts you with the App Tracking Transparency dialog, know that WordLoom does not engage in tracking as defined by Apple. Our analytics are first-party only and used exclusively to improve the App.
6. Data Retention
We retain your game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete the App without signing in, your local data is permanently removed. Cloud-synced data remains in Firestore until you request deletion.
7. Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon receiving your request, we will:
- Delete your Cloud Firestore data (game progress, leaderboard entries, sync data) within 30 days
- Remove your Firebase Authentication account
- Delete any associated push notification tokens
Please note that anonymized analytics data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for product improvement purposes.

WordLoom does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EEA). If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under these ages, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
